Seattle Super Sonics

On Wednesday night, I went to Key Arena to watch a NBA game. This game was held between Marvelics and Seattle Super Sonics. This was the last game for Seattle Super Sonics.
I have wanted to watch NBA for years. When I was in junior high school, I watched NBA which was held in Japan as a special game. It was very exciting and at this time I thought that real NBA, which would be held in the U.S., was more exciting. That is true. Wednesday’s game was more exciting. The real basketball game is so different from Japanese basketball game. There are some differences between NBA games and Japanese basketball games. One difference is that every team in NBA has an own huge stadium. This stadium has a lot of shops such as official shop, food shops and a restaurant. In Japan, professional basketball games are held in public big gym. The definitive difference is the fan. Everyone who came to Key Arena was so excited. I couldn’t believe that. They were cheering excitedly even though they noticed Super Sonics would lose. The fan in the U.S. is so interesting.
Anyway, if you are interested in basketball, you should go to watch NBA in next season.

Friday Night!

On Friday night, my friends invited me to a party. That was the first party since I came to Seattle. They invited about 20 people who are from Korea, Taiwan and Japan and most of them came to Seattle Central in this quarter.
The party started at 5 o’clock and then we started cooking. First, some Japanese people cooked. They boiled chickens that were seasoned like Japanese food. These chickens tasted very good!! I wanted you guys to try them. After that, some Koreans made 2 kinds of Korean foods. One is called “Chijimi”. It is made of vegetables, flours and peppers. It tasted nice. Another one is “Chige-Nabe”. Do you Know kimchi? It is the vegetable, especially the Chinese cabbage, seasoned by chili sauce, which is one of the famous Korean foods. It tastes so spicy. It’s easy to make “Chige-Nabe”. Just put chickens, vegetables and kimchi into boiled water in the pot. At this time, they put a lot of kimchi into the pot. It was so hot and spicy, but it tasted delicious. I love kimchi! Please try kimchi!
The party was closed at 12 o’clock. My friends took us our own houses by their cars. This party was a good opportunity to speak English and make foreign friends.

Introduction

Hello, everyone! My name is Shinya. I’m from Tokyo, Japan. I graduated from university in Japan last month and I came to Seattle to learn English and Graphic Design.
I have been here about 3 weeks, and this is my first quarter. I heard that it had rained for months in Seattle. But now the weather is pretty good, right? I like this weather.
I like sports. I played basketball when I was in junior high school and I skateboarded when I was in university. I’m thinking about starting to skateboard here again. And also my favorite sport is snowboarding. I started snowboarding 7 years ago. It is very exciting sport. Do you guys like to skateboard or go snowboarding? If you like, let me know.
Anyway, I don’t know much about Seattle and this school. If you guys know somewhere good place to play, please take me there.

This picture is my university.
